Decreto-Lei n.º 276/2001, de 17 de Outubro 

It contains the following changes:
   - DL n.º 315/2003, de 17 de Dezembro

It establishes the legal norms to put into application in Portugal to the European Convention for the Protection of Companion Animals and a special regime for the detention of potentially dangerous animals.

Decreto-Lei n.º 313/2003, de 17 de Dezembro

Approves the System for Identification and Registration of Dogs and Cats (SICAFE).

Decreto-Lei n.º 312/2003, de 17 de Dezembro

It establishes the legal regime of detention of dangerous and potentially dangerous animals as pets.

Decreto-Lei n.º 314/2003, de 17 de Dezembro

Approved the National Program for Fighting and Epidemiological Surveillance of animal rabies and other Zoonoses (PNLVERAZ) and lays down rules relating to ownership and possession, trade, exhibitions and entry into national territory of animals susceptible to rabies.

It establishes the legal regime of detention of dangerous and potentially dangerous animals as pets.

Determines the races of dogs and cross-breeds potentially dangerous.

Approves the Rules of Registration, Classification and Licensing of Dogs and Cats. Repealing Ordinance No. 1427/2001, from December 15.
